TV vs Radio Broadcasting

Task : Find The Difference between Television Broadcasting And Radio Broadcasting !

1. SYSTEM

There are 3 types of the media, audio, visual, and the last audio visual.

Audio: We just can hear the object, Ex : Radio

Visual: We just can look and see the object, Ex : Newspaper

Audio Visual: We can both see and hear the object, Ex : Television

As we know radio broadcasting is one of the Audio types. We just can hear the sound

or the voice and we must imagine by ourselves what the speaker is talking about.

Different with television broadcasting that is one of the Audio Visual type, we will

be served by both sound and also picture or even video.


2. STYLE

The style of television broadcasting is formal; the broadcaster should have a good

body language, performance, and attitude when he / she broadcast something.

Different with radio broadcasting that just let the enjoyable style. Due to the fact

that the radio broadcaster is not looked, so the radio broadcaster must not have a

formal performance, but still must have good attitude.


3. NETWORK AREA

The network area of the radio broadcasting different with television broadcasting.

Television broadcasting has a wide network area while radio broadcasting just has a

small network area. For instance, Television Station’s broadcasting can reach almost

all area in Indonesia, but we doubt that radio station’s broadcasting in Jakarta can

reach Bali Island.


4. OPERATIONAL BUDGET

The operational budget of course becomes a big difference. In TV broadcasting, there

are many modern and high technology tools, it is different, with the simple one,

radio broadcasting, the tools that is need doesn’t too many like in the television

station. And also for one show, example: news broadcasting, television station needs

to hire a lot of staff, newscaster, scriptwriter, cameramen, operator, costume

editor, lighting operator, make up staff, and many more. But for one show in radio

broadcasting, we just need the announcer, scriptwriter, and operator. So there is a

difference in operational budget.


5. COST

This is cost about fee of putting the advertisement, when we put the advertiseent in

the radio broadcasting, it will be cheap, but in the television broadcasting, it

must be very expensive.



How Does Media Affect Society ?

Media can affect society in many ways. Nowadays, media become the one part of the

lifestyle. As we know, media is a way of transmitting or transferring information to

the public. It can be good news and also can be not good news.

Media can affect society when media can broadcast something in good way & condition.

Means that media use the good way, so that it will not hurt anyone. Media should be

use also to tell public about something that is ‘in’. Means that it is the newest

topic that is spoken more by public. If public don’t not know anything about the

news, they can find the answer by the media. Media can be used to affect the

society, also if the speaker know what is happening outside and if he/ she has the

same way of thinking with the public. What he / she talked about is about make a

view for public. So that media can affect society.
